As a small business, there are some limitations to the type of sustainable packaging we can afford. But we are constantly making changes with our customers and planet in mind. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve on our packaging, please write to us!
Our mailing boxes are made from recycled paper. We encourage you to reuse these boxes in multiple ways, like utilising them for your online returns (whether for our shop or others) or reusing them as gift boxes for your friends. You can also donate them to Package Pals, a local initiative created to reuse and reduce packaging waste. Alternatively, please recycle them in your neighbourhood recycling bins.
The tape we use to seal your package is made of recycled paper, and the adhesive coated to the paper is a starch based glue that is water activated. It is recyclable and biodegradable, so you can recycle them along with the mailing boxes in your neighbourhood recycling bins.
The crumpled kraft paper we crush up and use to cushion your products to prevent breakage is made from recycled paper. Please recycle them in your neighbourhood recycling bins.
Sometimes we take the extra step to wrap your products and tie them with hemp twine to avoid using tape. Hemp twine is made from hemp plant and is biodegradable
Our black tissue papers are recyclable and used to wrap your product so that they remain compact and reduce the chances of your products tossing around in the box and spilling or breaking. Please reuse them as gift wrapping, or recycle them in your neighbourhood recycling bins.
Our sticker labels are printed with Vegetable-Based ink on 100% Recycled FSC Paper. They’re made by a company that supports sustainable packaging and for every order that they receive, they plant a tree in areas that are barren and require reforestation. Please recycle them along with the tissue paper in your neighbourhood recycling bins.
Thank you card
We wanted to include a handwritten thank you note in every order to show our appreciation for your support. These are recyclable, so please recycle them in your neighbourhood recycling bins.
We are working towards changing our shipping labels so that they’re more environmentally friendly like the rest of our packaging. We will slowly transition our current shipping labels to ones with release liners that are 100% recycled and can also be recycled with the rest of our packaging.
